I cut up fallen trees only in Co. Tipperary, Ireland. I season the wood traditionally over 3.5 years. I plant saplings, nurture and replant around my local town when mature enough. Metal and Mallet pride ourselves on not only designing and creating exquisite pieces of furniture & lighting but also on helping our environment.
I, Donnacha design, hand carve and create each piece using basic tools as I believe this allows the design process to organically evolve. I believe the materials I use ‘speak to me’. I respect the materials I use, not transforming them, but enhancing them into an Art form which is bespoke and unique.
